Position Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, print, fabrication, and installation execution. This role ensures that projects are produced accurately, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards.


In addition to managing workflows and output, the Production Manager leads and supports the production team, ensuring staff are aligned, trained, and set up for success. This role reports directly to ownership and includes regular team check-ins, performance oversight, and ongoing process improvement.


Key Responsibilities


Project Review & Readiness

  • Receive final, approved production-ready files and project specifications from Design

  • Review sales orders and job details to confirm scope, materials, and schedule requirements established by the Project Manager

  • Review projects to confirm materials, fabrication methods, and execution requirements are approved and documented

  • Acknowledge project readiness and schedule work accordingly

  • Document any sizing or production method changes in ShopVox to maintain accurate records for future projects


Production Planning

  • Coordinate equipment availability, materials, and print/cut schedules to meet project timelines

  • Conduct or delegate site surveys when required, documenting wall composition, access conditions, lift needs, and potential obstacles

  • Communicate feasibility concerns or site challenges to the Project Manager before fabrication or installation


Execution & Installation

  • Oversee and execute print, fabrication, and installation based on approved plans and specifications

  • Maintain quality control throughout all stages of production and installation

  • Ensure all finished goods are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipping based on project and carrier requirements

  • Communicate any packaging or shipping constraints to the Project Manager and Customer Service team

  • Document packaging for shipping as needed

  • Document completed installations with photos or field notes

  • Obtain client sign-off confirming installation or delivery completion


Team Leadership & Management

  • Manage and support production staff across print, fabrication, and installation functions

  • Conduct regular check-ins with team members to ensure alignment, performance, and morale

  • Provide direction, training, and accountability to ensure consistent quality and efficiency

  • Identify staffing needs and support hiring and onboarding as the company grows

  • Foster a positive, team-oriented shop culture that reflects Harmonic’s values

  • Maintain a high standard of shop organization to optimize workflow

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance for all tools and machinery alongside inventory management

  • Production runs smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule

  • Team members are clear on priorities and executing at a high level

  • Projects are produced accurately and meet quality expectations

  • Installations are prepared, organized, and professionally executed

  • Communication between production, project management, and design is clear and consistent


Qualifications

  • Experience in production, fabrication, signage, printing, or related fields

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working hands-on while also managing people and processes

  • While we value work-life balance, this role requires occasional weekend or overtime hours during busy seasons
